Which chocolate to use?

Go for a bar of eating chocolate rather than a baking chocolate, which contains a lot of sugar.
For this recipe I use the Carrefour own-brand chocolate at 80% fat. I find it excellent value for money (less than a euro a bar). Mind you, the bars are no longer 100 g but 80 g.

  1. Step 1

    Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 4 minutes at 450 W, or in a bain-marie.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

    Beat 4 eggs with the sugar. Add the chocolate, then the tin of condensed milk (whatever you do, don’t do it the other way round).

  2. Step 2

    Put the mixture into a buttered dish, unless it’s silicone.

    Bake for 20 minutes. It doesn’t look cooked enough to you… resist the temptation to cook it any longer — tomorrow it’ll be fondant, just as it should be ^^.
