Step 1
Preheat your oven to 230 °C.
Beat the eggs with the sugar.
Add the soft butter and the compote. Beat again.
Tip in, all at once, the flour sifted with the baking powder. Mix without overworking.
Bake for 5 minutes, lower the thermostat to 180 °C and carry on baking for 40 minutes.
Check with a knife blade — it should come out clean. If not, give it a few more minutes.
