Pear and chocolate galette des rois

Very easy with two ready-made puff pastry sheets. Since puff pastry takes a long time to make, I suggest buying it ready-made. Choose the Picard brand for this product. Puff pastry is made of wheat flour, butter, water and salt… no preservatives or odd ingredients…<3

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Peel the pears and cut them into small slices or pieces.

Lay an unrolled sheet of puff pastry on an oven dish.

Spread the pieces of pear and the chocolate chips over it, taking care not to put them too close to the edge (see photo).

Don’t forget to add a fève — the little charm hidden inside a galette des rois (it would be a shame to forget ^^).

  2. Step 2

Lay the other sheet of puff pastry on top and press to seal the two sheets well (you can put a little water round the edge of the bottom sheet to be sure the galette won’t open up).

    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

With a pointed knife, you can make a few decorations.

Brush on a little milk (or an egg yolk so the galette turns golden as it bakes).

    Bake for 35 minutes.
