Ingredient
Kiwi
The kiwi doesn’t always come from New Zealand. More and more, it’s grown close to home and it’s easy to cultivate if you have a garden. It’s harvested in late October, before the frosts, and then ripens quietly in a cellar or garage.
You can go and pick your own in autumn at some farms. Right now you’ll find it at certain growers’ (for example at Talensac market, or at Côteaux Nantais, near Nantes). To speed up ripening, pop it in a bowl with some apples.
Worth knowing: it has more vitamin C than an orange. Just one is enough for your daily dose.
